Melina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She began her journey in the field of social work at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree. Following graduation, Melina began an emphasis on school social work and enjoyed collaborating with many systems involved in helping children reach their full potentials in learning and social development. Melina went on to graduate in 2001 from the University of Louisville with a Master’s degree in social work and an emphasis on program implementation and research.
She began working in a clinical setting in 2005 and continues to enjoy utilizing a person centered emphasis in working with individuals in a welcoming environment. She is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavior therapy modalities.
